We all want to live well and stay healthy as long as possible. That is why it is so important to have regular wellness checks and to have access to premium healthcare facilities. For this reason, an increasing number of older adults are choosing to downsize and relocate to cities that are close to hospitals and related medical specialists. Easy access to healthcare facilities increases your independence, saves you time and brings you and your loved one’s peace of mind. Just knowing that access to essential medical facilities is quick and effortless generally reduces stress and anxiety. As a major metropolitan area, Chicago ranks as one of the premier medical centers in the country.
Chicago’s top-rated Northwestern Hospital, Northwestern Medicine is located less than one-half mile from The Clare and has 4,000 practicing physicians covering 40 medical specialties and sub-specialties.
Ranked #1 in Illinois, #1 in Chicago and #10 nationally by U.S. News & World Report, Northwestern Hospital is the teaching hospital for Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.
Cardiology is just one of the highly rated medical specialties at Northwestern Medicine. Geriatrics, Orthopedics, Neurology and Rheumatology also hold an enviable rank by U.S. News and World Report.
Rush University Medical Center holds the 17th spot among the nearly 4,000 U.S. hospitals evaluated, with 11 Rush programs ranked among the nation’s best by U.S. News and World Report. Fewer than 5% of U.S. hospitals receive high enough scores to rank nationally in even one specialty. Two Rush Medical Center services, neurology and neurosurgery and orthopedics, are in the top five nationwide, and three are the highest-ranked programs in Illinois.
Less than a mile from The Clare at Rush River North, Rush’s neighborhood facility offers primary care, OB-GYN, cardiology, dermatology, gastroenterology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, urology and hepatology specialties.
While Chicago connects you with highly rated medical centers, The Clare is dedicated to providing residents a full range of exceptional on-site health and wellness services, all at a predictable cost.
For residents’ convenience, the Wellness Center is open daily from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and offers everything from vital sign and blood-sugar checks to wound dressing changes and answers to many medical-related questions.
The Wellness Center Nurse Navigator at The Clare arranges health-related programming, coordinates the visits of a variety of medical providers, facilitates resident transitions from hospital stays back home and arranges for a visiting lab technician to complete lab orders per doctor requests. Whether a resident has a planned surgery or makes an unexpected trip to the emergency room, the Wellness Center is there to check in. They will consult follow-up orders from doctors and help to arrange for therapy services or home healthcare as needed.
Should a day ever come when you need more support, you will find it at The Terraces at The Clare: assisted living, memory support, skilled nursing and rehabilitation services are all available.
